The Class of 2009 has much to celebrate as their academic year comes to a close and graduation is around the corner.  This year's senior class has been accepted to over 70 colleges and universities.  A small sampling includes: Brown, Boston College, Boston University, University of Connecticut, Fordham, Holy Cross, Penn State, NYU, Universite Laval (in Canada), Purdue University and Penn State.

In addition, the class of 2009 has collectively received 325,000+ in scholarship and financial aid offers as potential incoming freshmen.  Most notably, the following students and their scholarship awards deserve recognition:

  • Christine Lai, Cardinal Medeiros Scholar from Boston University - a full tuition, four year scholarship based on academic merit,
  • Michaelia Kelley, Passion for Action Scholarship from Wheelock College - awarded to 3 students each year who are nominated by guidance counselors of faculty in recognition of their commitment to service and addressing the social fabric of their communities
  • Brendan Bennett - full tuition scholarship to Louisiana State University.

Our students continue to receive acceptance and scholarship awards throughout the spring so please stay tuned for more good news from the TCHS Guidance Office.
